Before the Show
So, I got to the Galen Center at USC (which coincidentally is my dream school) at around 3:30. And wow, I knew there'd be a lot of people, but the line was sooo long. We had to keep walking to get to the end, and two of my friends stayed in the line while me and two others went to get food. We had to hem and haw around the USC campus a lot, but we finally found a restaurant and walked back. While we waiting to cross the street, some college students (presumably USC students) were like "Woah what's the protest for?" XD And then someone else responded, "No, it's a line for Harry Potter." LOL. My friend turned around and explained that it was for an Asian concert.
After, my friend and I were frantically making signs (we were busy and had only started).
Here are the pictures (well thumbnails):
<--my signs
Hers says I love you Park Yoochun. My two say "JYJ Himnae" which is kind of like "Stay strong" or "You can do it!" and "Your heart is empty? Let me fill it for you." XD; (I'M SORRY I'M LAME LOL) If I had more time and didn't have all this college stuff to do, I think I would've made a sign that says "DON"T QUIT TWITTER PLEASE" lol x) --> Lame, but seriously. The day they leave Twitter D: I will face major withdrawal symptoms.
Anyway, so while we were in line (after I finished my signs), I just talked to some other fans and got my free/ bought stuff like glowsticks. I saw some interesting fans that day, and one thing I noticed is that they were mostly all older than me. A lot of college students.. but I also saw a group of ajumma fans. XD; (after the show, I heard one talk to her young kid who's probably in elementary and say, "Umma [Mom - She was referring to herself in 3rd person] wanted to see Micky Yoochun..." HAHA) In addition, I saw a group of 3 fanboys (like legit fanboys... not ones brought by their girlfriends/sisters XD) Lots of international fans (especially Japanese ones) as well. :D
Back to the line haha. The line finally started moving, and we got to go in. When we did, there were three lines. People automatically went to the longest line without knowing it was the bathroom line. Luckily, my friend noticed and went to the right door, which is how we got into seats which were like only a few feet away from the stage * D * Photo showing where we were
This was what the location looked like:
<-- lol a yunjae sign made of lights XD; my favorite sign that night!
For some odd reason, I was really nervous. I had seen DBSK before, but I hadn't liked them before (how stupid was I when I was younger...), so the feeling was super different. We were all waiting (the floor was so dense XD; there were like no people in the back...) After this, there was a lot of waiting as people trickled in. My friend and I got on the screen for our signs though :) <3
Then, finally JYJ came out. and wow.. the only word to describe them is: "DAMMMNNN." They are so gorgeous. I don't even know how to explain this to people who haven't seen them. I'm not trying to rub in this fact, just like. Wow, they're even more amazing in real life. They are so good looking that I was at a loss of what to do. Wow. Especially Jaejoong. Tbh, Jaejoong is not one of my favorites ( I still love him ) and he's not exactly my style. But man, he is a work of art. He has this perfect porcelain skin.. and just. He is really good looking. Almost otherworldly. XD; Anyway, all of them are super duper duper good looking. Junsu? THE CAMERA DOES NOT DO YOU JUSTICE. Micky? Dear lord, Yoochun is so good looking in real life. The camera is apparently not kind to them. :( WHATEVERS THEY'RE STILL BEAUTIFUL IN PHOTOS. :D
Performance Portion
Just a warning: Unfortunately, the sound quality of my camera sucks :( Also, I'd like to add that I was in the front floor... with a bunch of excited fangirls XD; That means a lot of girls jumping, screaming, blocking my view, etc. It made it harder for me to get not shaky fancams. And to add to that this was my 1st attempt at fancams. Anyway, don't expect much. If you do want to see the perfs, there are a bunch of videos on Youtube that you can also look at.
Empty
Not going to upload this one because I was too excited and accidentally turned off my camera... twice XD;
Be the One
I do the same mistake, but only once :D hehe.
Be My Girl
Can I just say I'm glad they only performed songs I like XD
Chajjatda (from SKKS)
^ Loved this performance. SKKS was so cute... :D <3 I swear, I'm not the girl screaming in this one though XD; I don't know who that is. Also, you can hear my friend singing along LOL (we were both keke) At one point, I try to move to focus on Junsu but a lot of ppl were blocking me, so I switch back to JJ LOOL. I do scream at the end though.
Ayy Girl
This was the one performance where I really didn't take videos, except when Junsu came near us. The reason is I just wanted to focus on their performing, and this is my least favorite song anyway XD
Oh and at first they accidentally played Empty (Remix) :D Micky was like.. "Sorry~" haha It was super cute. <3
Empty Remix
This one has close ups of JJ, which makes it worthy to look at XD; even with crappy sound. I do lose myself at one point seeing him near me, but I do get some nice shots of him. :) Watch this one, even if you don't watch the others. And confetti came down... ; w ; (Btw I collected the confetti xD) ending the too short showcase. SIGH.
Extra notes: Really, Junsu is just such a performer. Dancing, singing, stage presence... He's really got it all covered. Not to say that the other two aren't good as well, but there's just something that always makes me look towards him when he performs.
Talk Portion
Just fyi, the hosts were Shane and Arden. Arden is really pretty o w o; and she's good at English and Korean. She did any translation JYJ needed, too. Also, if any of these translations are wrong... remember I'm referring to fancams.
So... Junsu is SOO cute! I'm not gonna upload this part because.... I just realized how high my screams can be LOL XD But I'll talk about some cute parts.
First Shane starts by asking JJ if it's okay that he's wearing JJ's shirt cause he spilled ketchup on his. Then, Arden translates and says "Doesn't he look good in the shirt?" (LOLOL). He's wearing JJ's actual outfit for his performance (video here), and it definitely looks tight on him. Anyway, JJ answers by saying "so good." They introduce themselves, and Junsu only says "Hi, I'm Junsu" and all of the girls go WILD. (oh wait, was that just me? LOL /biased) He also says "Oh my god sun" lols. Micky is like "LAAA" and I have no clue what comes next. XD The host then talks about Micky Christmas (WHICH IS THE CUTEST THING EVER) and asks what was the idea behind it.
Micky: "Next week is Thanksgiving, right?" and launches into some stuff about how he was with friends and there were Santa hats. (/confused... I have trouble translating Chunglish :( Sorry)
They go on to talk about Elbowyeish, who uploaded the video. His actual name is John, and they bring him out on stage. (Junsu, being the adorable person he is, says "oh my john!" LOOOOOOOL)
Afterwards, they start talking about their pets. (At this point, I remembered reading about the NY showcase and was like "Oh god, they're gonna ask us to meow???" But thankfully they didn't XD) After that, there was talk about their twitters and the origins of the names. (Mjj = initials of their names, 6002themicky = sounds like "yookchunee," which sounds like yoochunee, 0101xiahtic = xiahtic + registered bday date. after, in the most adorable way, (he sounds a little unsure/childish in english) he's like "don't forget" XD <3) well i'll never be able to forget NOW T__T <3
After the Show
So I went with two hardcore Korean Cassies, one neutral person (who was also shocked by how good looking they were LOL), and my other friend (who's a Micky stan). The two Cassies of course were like... "Where are they coming out from?" We couldn't just split up the group, so my friend and I followed the two and went towards the back doors. (unlike the normal ppl in the front XD;) The whole time, I was like "i can't believe I'm doing this..." because until two years ago--heck, even til this year before I became a Shawol, I was a normal, not-obsessive casual listener of kpop.
Anyway, lo and behold, we came across JYJ's cars. There were other obsessive fans, and my Korean friend even started singing DBSK songs with another fan. I remember at one point shouting something to them (some sort of positive message. I forget.) but for the most part, I kept near the back. The security guards had to come out to push the fangirls back because they were like half a foot away from the cars as they came out, but man, o w o; fangirls are strong. I watched a little amused and creeped out by the screaming fans who were trying to push out their cameras to get pictures. They would seriously not budge until forced haha. I realized how hard it must be to get to places when you're a celeb, and kinda felt sorry for them... But you gotta make sacrifices, and I guess it's just one of the downers of fame.
Once they got out of the garage-type place, they waved and left. Again, fans are crazy haha. I saw a group of girls run to a black car (that was waiting) and go after them. (But I gotta admit, when SHINee comes to LA again and I have a driver's license... I am seriously afraid I might resort to staying around their hotels to get a glimpse T___T /is scared for self) Afterwards, we got Yogurtland and just talked about JYJ and how amazing they were in the car.
After the entire day, my heart... seriously felt so empty LOL (okay i couldn't resist). But really, i could totally understood what it felt like to feel withdrawal after a concert. Especially when it's freakin JYJ, and you only get a small taste. :( That being said, will I ever be able to see DBSK together on stage? Sorry to bring up that sort of sad thing, but being there made me wonder. If just three of them are amazing, how awesome and epic must it be to see all five together?
Anyway, obviously I really enjoyed myself at the concert. Even if it hadn't been free, I would have still felt like it was worth the money. People have asked me why people go to concerts. That feeling of being there? I don't care how loud you play a song on your stereo or computer (even if it's a live performance) or how many performances you watch... it's just different. Seeing their energy, being with other people who also appreciate the music. Idunno, there's just something so magical about them performing and you being there. I guess what I'm trying to say is it felt kind of surreal to see them performing in front of me, and I feel so fortunate I got the opportunity. I hope other Cassies get the chance to see them! If you're in LA, they said they may come back, so cross your fingers. :)

Anyway, obviously, I couldn't catch everything. If you go on Koreaboo (http://www.koreaboo.com/index.html/_/g eneral/jyj-world-tour-los-angeles-showca se-recap-ph-r1000) there's an accurate and thorough recap. ^^ <3
Hopefully they come back like they said they would!
Also, they're going to be making an MV for Empty (YEEESSSS).
12.13.10: Wow.. I wrote this the day of the Showcase and added some stuff the day after-ish. Looking back, I realize I should've probably written this better, but I was just trying to get all my thoughts done before I forgot. Sorry for the weird writing. Anyway, this roughly sums up my experience. x)
Another anecdote though! This happened after the concert, but it was interesting. Sorry to add to be my already tl;dr type post. I had to go to a tutoring academy that was a different branch from the one I usually go to. Anyway, I was just looking through some of my JYJ pics really quick to sort them, and I was looking at the ones I took with my sign. Well, the girl behind me saw and was like "Hey I really like(d?) your pink sign." Thinking she just thought it was cute, I responded, "Oh, thanks. Do you know what it's for?"
Girl: "Yeah, for the JYJ showcase, right? I went. My friend and I saw your sign on the .. um... screen-thing? [My friend and I came out multiple times]"
Me: o w o; -thinking: Oh God.. I never thought this would come to haunt me again- but I ended up saying: "Oh really? That's so cool haha... But I'm kind of embarrassed.. I didn't think anyone would recognize me XD;"
Girl: "Haha, no, we really liked it! I'm gonna text my friend right now that I met the girl who made the pink sign."
/end convo
Anyway, random, but I love how being part of the same fandom makes people comfortable and open with each other. I also learned that next time I make signs, I need to make something not so corny and embarrassing because apparently people might actually remember you T__T </3 Lastly, Happy Birthday to my all-time bias ONew. I wish I had time to make a post for you. :( I will next year though! <3 Thank you for all the laughs you've given me. Hope you had an awesome birthday!
